The 38th District's 2010 Congressional Art Contest

On Saturday, April 24, Rep. Grace Napolitano hosted the 38th District Congressional Art Competition at the Fox Theater in Pomona. This year's winning work, "Dreams of War," by Jesus Rivera, will be hung inside the U.S. Capitol.

The second place painting, "Self Portrait," by Isaac Martinez, will be shown in the Congresswoman's Washington, DC office and the third place work of art, "The Concept of Beauty," by Genesis Guzman, will be exhibited in her office in Santa Fe Springs.

This year's winners:

First Place Winner - Jesus Rivera
(El Rancho)

Second Place Winner - Isaac Martinez (Montebello)
"Self Portrait"

Third Place Winner - Genesis Guzman (El Rancho)
"The Concept of Beauty"

The works were judged by Jerry Tessier of the Pomona Arts Colony, Hamrozalli Abkarim of Cao Yong Editions Inc., and Stacy Davies, Arts and Culture Editor for IE Weekly.
