Federal Register Notice: Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee Notice of Open Meeting by Teleconference: NTIA announced a public meeting of the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (Committee), which will take place through a telephone conference call (teleconference). The Committee provides advice to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information on spectrum management policy matters. The meeting will be held on December 13, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST. (52 KB PDF file)

President’s Spectrum Plan Reports:
- Plan and Timetable to Make Available 500 Megahertz of Spectrum for Wireless Broadband: This report outlines the approach that NTIA will take in collaboration with the FCC and Federal agencies to achieve the President’s goal to make 500 megahertz of spectrum available for fixed and mobile wireless broadband within ten years. The report includes a list of bands for consideration under the plan. (956 KB PDF file)
- An Assessment of the Near-Term Viability of Accommodating Wireless Broadband Systems in the 1675-1710 MHz, 1755-1780 MHz, 3500-3650 MHz, and 4200-4220 MHz, 4380-4400 MHz Bands: This report presents NTIA’s analysis of bands under a “Fast Track” review.  The report recommends making available, within five years, 115 megahertz (1695-1710 MHz and 3550-3650 MHz) as an important step toward the President’s goal to make 500 megahertz available for wireless broadband within ten years. Non-Federal License Applications Being Coordinated with NTIA: Non-federal users can now check the status of their spectrum applications going through coordination with NTIA/IRAC (those for federal/non-federal shared bands). Where NTIA/IRAC has completed its response, the applicant should contact the FCC regarding any further action that may be required concerning the NTIA/IRAC response.
