STEARNS ATTENDING “HOUSE CALL ON WASHINGTON” TO VOICE OPPOSITION TO A GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF HEALTHCARE
PUBLIC URGED TO ATTEND EVENT IN WASHINGTON OR GO TO THEIR ELECTED OFFICIALS’ DISTRICT OFFICES AT NOON ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH

Washington, Nov 4, 2009 - “I do not believe that a government takeover of healthcare will serve the American people and I oppose any measure that would force individuals and families into a federal healthcare system,” stated Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth). “Let’s look at Medicare as an example of a government-run healthcare system. Medicare has unfunded liabilities of $38 trillion and will be insolvent in 2017. The American people deserve real healthcare reform.”

Stearns will participate in the “House Call on Washington” Event at noon on the steps of the U.S Capitol on Thursday, November 5, 2009. Americans throughout the country will attend the event to demand that Congress defeat the government takeover of healthcare. Those unable to make it to Washington, D.C. are asked to go to the district offices of their House or Senate members at noon on November 5th and make their voices heard.
