"As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Fort Hunter Liggett has received funding to build four additional sets of family housing and one set of commander's quarters," said Col. Kevin Riedler, commander of the Combat Support Training Center. "With the increased training mission at Hunter Liggett, this funding helps provide for the soldiers who sustain that training and our nation's defense. Having again placed a commander there in 2007 to head the growing mission, this funding will also permit returning the historic hacienda commander's quarters to Morale, Welfare, and Recreation as they had been used since the previous commander departed Hunter Liggett in the 1990s."

"Investing in these military construction projects will not only provide a stimulus effect on the economy, they improve the quality of life for our troops and military families," Rep. Farr said. "Projects range from repairing water and gas lines to modernizing the health clinic at the Presidio of Monterey, which are necessary to extend the life of our local facilities."
