Rep. Slaughter Responds to BRAC Commission Decision to Save 107th Air National Guard Unit
Washington, DC - Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (D-Fairport), Ranking Member of the House Rules Committee, responded today to news that BRAC has decided to keep the 107th Air National Guard unit at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.
"We are relieved that the BRAC Commission has recognized the homeland security needs of our country by keeping the 107th Air National Guard unit right here in Niagara. This is a victory for all those who serve as well as our entire community who have fought together to protect our local economy and national security interests. With this decision I am even more optimistic that the Commission will also act to save the 914th Air Reserve unit, ensuring that the Base remains open and fully operational," said Rep. Slaughter.
Further comments will be made by Rep. Slaughter upon BRAC's final decision regarding the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. |
