Northern Virginia is served by both Dulles International and Reagan National Airports. These airports have played an integral role in the development of Northern Virginia into one of the most vibrant and dynamic regional economies in the United States. Equally important, these airports are critical to the federal government and the quality of life in our region.

I have worked closely with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) and our local governments to ensure that any infrastructure improvements to the airports be completed in a manner that minimizes aircraft noise and preserves the balance between Dulles and Reagan National airports. In the Senate, I have consistently fought efforts to relax the slot and perimeter rules applicable to the airports, which has significant community opposition.

I will continue to ensure that these airports suit both our capital needs and the interests of the local communities.
