Manitowoc-Sheboygan Program
for Homeless Youth Receives Grant

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Tom Petri reports that the Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $195,713 grant to Project Youth through the Sheboygan-based Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

"That is wonderful! Oh my gosh!" said Marilyn Pape, Director of the Sheboygan Office of Project Youth, when she heard the news.

Pape explained that the funds will be used for a transitional living program in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties "that works with homeless youth between 16 and 21 to help stabilize their lives, provide safety, to help secure employment, finish their education, set goals for themselves and become successfully independent."
