Petri Receives Food Industry Award
WASHINGTON -- Congressman Tom Petri received the Thomas Jefferson Award on July 12 from the International Foodservice Distributors Association. IFDA representative Jonathan Eisen presented the award at a Capitol Hill event and explained that the recognition is given every two years to members of Congress who support free enterprise and a strong economy. Petri said, "Obviously, agriculture is very important to our state, and so is food processing. The industry looks for members of Congress who support their businesses and the jobs and growth they provide. I'm happy to be known as a friend of agriculture and food processing." |
