WASHINGTON -- Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Bill Bruins met with Rep. Tom Petri Tuesday to present him with a "Friend of Farm Bureau" award.

"This award is about honoring the congressmen that have voted for benefits for agriculture, and for voting for policy that makes sure that agriculture stays strong. And, again this year, Congressman Petri is very deserving of this award," Bruins said.

"I am delighted to get this token of recognition from the Wisconsin Farm Bureau," Petri responded. "We have a lot of people in Wisconsin who work real hard to put food on our table, and we've got to help them here in Washington."
