WASHINGTON -- Congressman Tom Petri reports that ADVOCAP, Inc., of Fond du Lac has been awarded a $365,000 federal grant to fund the second year of its Family Violence Prevention and Services program. The program is run in partnership with Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services in Oshkosh.

The program's project director, Tony Beregszazi, said that the program is focused on helping victims of domestic violence acquire training and jobs. He noted that it is a pilot project designed to demonstrate and improve approaches for helping its clients become self-sufficient. The program's federal grant is one of only two nationwide awarded for this purpose.
