Capitol Civic Centre Gets $248,000 Grant

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Tom Petri reports that the City of Manitowoc has been awarded a $248,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to replace the boiler and upgrade the ventilation system of the Capitol Civic Centre.

"The Centre is an important part of the cultural life of Manitowoc," said Petri. "Its 1,180 seat community theatre, located in the heart of the city, is one of the best remaining examples of the 1920s opulent movie house, and provides a home for the performing arts for the city and county. It's non-profit, and it's worthy of support."
