WASHINGTON -- The winner of Rep. Tom Petri's Congressional Art Competition,
Sheboygan North High School graduate Mai Koua Yang, visited the Capitol Thursday to see her
painting on display. Her colored pencil work, "Sunshine," is a fanciful portrait of her friend,
Sunshine Her.
"Her work will be on display with others from around the United States in the walkway
between the Cannon Building and the Capitol," Petri said. "They are arranged by state, so if
anyone from Wisconsin is visiting, when you get to the Wisconsin section, in alphabetical order,
you will see her work."
Yang said it was great to see her painting displayed with those of "many other students
who have really nice artwork and skills. I think that's just wonderful."
