Fond du Lac's Advocap Receives $1.4 million
for Handicapped Training

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Tom Petri reports that Advocap, Inc., of Fond du Lac has been awarded a $1,355,096 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to fund its Head Start full year, part day handicapped training and technical assistance program. The funds include a $504,802 grant announced earlier in the month.

"As a longtime advocate of Head Start, I'm glad to see continued support for this program which serves hundreds of kids in Fond du Lac and Green Lake Counties," said Petri, who is Vice Chairman of the Committee on Education and the Workforce which oversees Head Start.

Advocap Executive Director Michael S. Bonertz said, "This is fantastic. The kids in this part of the state will continue to be served because of this. Head Start is an incredibly important program for low-income kids and their families."
