Rural Development Grant Approved for Green Lake County

 WASHINGTON - Representative Tom Petri reports that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved a $36,774 Rural Development grant for Advocap, Inc., of Fond du Lac.  In combination with $70,208 obtained from other sources, the funds will be used to provide technical assistance to Green Lake County.

ADVOCAP's proposal is to assist at least eight businesses, creating or saving a minimum of 15 jobs, through technical and financial help in business development.  Rather than creating new businesses, the project will focus on building the capacity of existing businesses to overcome economic distress and cash flow problems due to changing economic conditions and market fluctuations.  The goal will be to help the businesses stabilize and create or diversify new markets in order to save present jobs or to create new ones.
