Riverside Middle School Students Visit Petri in Washington

WASHINGTON - Congressman Tom Petri stepped out of an Aviation Subcommittee hearing Wednesday to meet with 16 8th-graders from Watertown's Riverside Middle School.   

Riverside Social Studies teacher Tim Gifford explained that the group was visiting the nation's capital in association with the Washington Workshops Foundation.  The group arrived Sunday and will return home Friday.

Gifford said the group had been busy visiting the monuments on the National Mall, the Supreme Court, the National Zoo, Ford's Theatre where President Lincoln was assassinated, the Kennedy Center to see a show, and more.  "It's been busy.  It's been a good trip," Gifford said.
