Dodge County Students Win Academy Nominations

Congressman Tom Petri reports that he has nominated Mayville High School seniors David Lee Riegleman and Daniel John Mittelstadt for appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, CO.  Petri has also nominated Riegleman for admission to the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY.

Nominated for admission to the Merchant Marine Academy is Travis Dahlgren, a senior at Watertown High School.

Petri's nominees are chosen in an annual non-partisan competition, based on their high school records as judged by a commission of 14 residents of the 6th Congressional District.  Final selections are made by the academies.  However, Petri said, "Nomination is a major step toward being offered an appointment."
