Congressman Tom Petri reports that the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Center for Mental Health Services will receive a $100,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The funds will be used to expand the university's Comprehensive Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Program, to develop and implement the Center for Balanced Wellness Program, to mobilize an Alcohol Task Force and to continue increasing the campus' competency in working with distressed and marginalized students.
"The college years can be confusing for any student, but when stress becomes overwhelming, it's essential to take notice and take action," Petri said. "It's good to know that UWO is expanding its efforts in this area, and has succeeded with this important grant application."
