The federal government offers a myriad of programs that can help local governments, small businesses, and educational institutions leverage their limited resources to successfully meet their various needs, and Rep. Tom Petri has scheduled a conference on the topic. "I am pleased to invite all who would be interested to a conference I am sponsoring called "Assistance to Small Business, Local Government and Education: Leveraging Federal Resources for Success," Petri said.
The conference will be take place from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Moraine Park Technical College at 235 N. National Avenue in Fond du Lac.
Keynote remarks will be made by Del Reynolds, Field Office Director, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Milwaukee.
The program will feature specific workshop tracks for local government, small business and education, both primary and secondary as well as college and university. A fourth track will provide general information on grant writing and how to research which grants and programs are available at any given time.
