Congressman Tom Petri reports that the East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission has been awarded a $154,884 three-year grant by the U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration.
The grant will help to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive regional economic development strategy for Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Menominee, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, Waushara, and Winnebago counties. The strategy will be designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy through private capital investment and job creation.
"In these uncertain times especially, we need to work together to bring jobs and growth to east-central Wisconsin, to know what we can do, to prepare for it, and to let people know that we are open for business. This grant will help us move forward," said Petri.
