On March 9, the House of Representatives approved H.Res. 1142, a resolution authored by Rep. Tom Petri congratulating Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, WI, for 75 years of service as an undergraduate institution of higher education.
"Strong institutions help to make strong communities, and the people of Wisconsin, especially those in and near Manitowoc, are proud of the 75 years of service that Silver Lake College has provided. The growth, strength and vitality of Silver Lake College is an achievement well worth special recognition," Petri told the House in a floor statement.
In response, Silver Lake College's president, Dr. George F. Arnold, said, "We sincerely appreciate receiving this recognition from Congress and Rep. Petri. A significant amount of hard work has gone into building Silver Lake College over the years, and having that noted is very helpful as we continue to build and strengthen our institution."
