Congressman Tom Petri will be at the Postal Service's Public Information meeting tonight, and urges all interested parties to attend to express their views on the proposed closing of the Oshkosh Mail Processing and Distribution Center. At the meeting Petri plans to express his concerns about the Postal Service plans and about the manner in which those plans are being formulated.
"I hope the Post Office will answer a number of questions that have been raised, rethink its study, and provide more information in advance of meetings in the future so that people who are affected by potential closings of facilities have a chance to react to the information upon which the Post Office is basing its decision."
The meeting will be held tonight, Nov. 23, at 7 pm in Room 227AB at the UWO's Reeve Memorial Union, 748 Algoma Blvd in Oshkosh. Those who can't attend can send a letter to Manager Consumer Affairs, Lakeland District, P.O. Box 5011, Milwaukee, WI 53201-5011. All comments will be accepted up to 15 days after the public meeting.
