Fond du Lac's Sabish Middle School
Students Visit U.S. Capitol

WASHINGTON -- Forty of Fond du Lac's Sabish Middle School students and chaperones met with Rep. Tom Petri this morning outside the U.S. Capitol Building and then toured inside.

Gina Rieder, a teacher at the school and National Junior Honors Society advisor for the students, explained, "They have to get a GPA of 3.5 or higher for all of 7th grade and all of 8th grade" in order to participate in the Washington trip.

She said that in addition to touring the Capitol Building, the students would visit the White House, the monuments on the National Mall, the Holocaust Museum and the Pentagon. The group will return to Fond du Lac Monday.
