WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Chair of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, introduced the Sunshine in Litigation Act of 2010 in order to stop preventable injuries, accidents and deaths caused by lack of public access to critical consumer information. The bill would restore public accountability in our judicial system by ensuring that public health and safety are properly taken into account when decisions are made about keeping information concerning public health or safety issues discovered in litigation secret.

The resolution expresses the “sense of the Congress that the lack of adequate housing must be addressed as a barrier to effective HIV prevention, treatment, and care, and that the United States should make a commitment to providing adequate funding for developing housing as a response to the AIDS pandemic.”

Nadler, will further the Port Authority’s efforts to take trucks off of the roads and transition to more sustainable modes of freight movement.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Reps. Carolyn Maloney and Jerrold Nadler are urging Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Peter Orszag to approve contracts and funding for federal programs to treat and monitor the health of those who were exposed to toxins released by the 9/11 attacks. In a letter dated yesterday to Orszag (a copy of which can be found below), Maloney and Nadler note that the World Trade Center responder health program, the 9/11 Mental Health and Substance Use Benefit Program, and the World Trade Center Health Registry will all have to cease operating in the near future unless OMB makes the contract and funding approvals, some of which have been pending for seven months.
