WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY-08) is pleased to announce that Ari Goldberg will be his new Communications Director. Mr. Goldberg was formerly the Senior Public Affairs Officer at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), an NGO chaired by Madeleine K. Albright that helps people build more democratic societies overseas. He was also a television producer for C-SPAN and BBC News in Jerusalem. Mr. Goldberg studied broadcasting at the University of Texas at Austin and received a Master’s in Hebrew Literature from Cambridge University. He previously worked on the Hill for Reps. Howard Berman (CA-28) and Jane Harman (CA-36).

Vows a Democratic Congress will "hold EPA accountable"
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) today blasted the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for issuing yet another inadequate testing and cleanup program for World Trade Center contamination. The new plan does not reflect the recommendations of the EPA Inspector General issued in August 2003, or the "World Trade Center Expert Technical Review Panel" established by EPA specifically to develop a scientifically sound plan for indoor contamination.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY-08) and Congressman Joseph Crowley (NY-07) today wrote to Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Pataki, calling on them to abandon their plans to dramatically increase rent for tenants of supportive AIDS housing residences. On October 4, the city announced significant rent increases for AIDS housing tenants, giving them less than one month’s notice.

BROOKLYN, NY – Congressman Jerrold Nadler strongly urged the Regional Commissioner of the United States Social Security Administration (SSA) to re-open a local office in southwestern Brooklyn. The previous office serving Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, Borough Park and Dyker Heights – located at 6011 Fort Hamilton Parkway – burned down in a fire this August and has remained closed ever since.
