Agriculture
Agriculture is vital to East Alabama and those that live and work here. Farming and Ranching is what helps support our rural economies, and it is critical that Congress works to strengthen our farms with a strong farm safety net.
As a member of the House Agricultural Committee, I am pleased Congress passed the Farm Bill in the 110th Congress. As we move forward it is vitally important that we protect the programs in the Farm Bill.
Energy is a critical component of our nation’s agricultural industry and as Congress moves forward with changes to energy policy like alternative fuels and cap and trade legislation it is important for us to remember the impact they will have on our producers and our food supply.
