Cadet Smith Named Marshall Scholar
West Point Class of 2011 Cadet Jeremy D. Smith, of Grapevine, Texas, is one of 31 students nationwide to have been recently named a 2011 Marshall Scholar. West Point cadets have earned 34 Marshall Scholarships since 1982, the academy’s first year competing for the awards. Smith, a Life Sciences major, will be commissioned as a second lieutenant and branch Engineer in the U.S. Army upon graduation from West Point in May.
