Service Academy Nominations
Senator Webb can nominate Virginians to be candidates to the U.S. Military Academy
One of the greatest honors that I have as a member of Congress is the opportunity to nominate excellent young Virginians as candidates to the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S.  Merchant Marine Academy. To make this process open to as many young people as possible, I have established procedures that ensure a fair and objective assessment while producing the best-qualified candidates for the academies.

In order to be eligible for nomination, students must be at least 17 years old but not older than 22 years old (as of July 1 of the year of admission); they must be legal citizens of the U.S. as of November 1 of the application year; they must be unmarried with no legal obligations to support children or other dependents; and they must be legal residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia. If you meet these requirements, I welcome your application.

It is essential that you follow all of the steps in the application process in order to receive full consideration for nomination to a Service Academy. You may begin submitting application materials on July 1, 2010, and all of your information must be postmarked by October 31, 2010 for consideration for next summer’s entering class. Late applications will not be accepted. Click here to download an application >>
