Congressman Jeb Hensarling (TX-05) is the top Republican on the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit.  A former member of the Congressional Oversight Panel (Panel) for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) Hensarling now serves as a member of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. He is the author of H.R. 4889, the GSE Bailout Elimination and Taxpayer Protection Act, the only bill currently before Congress to end the taxpayer bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
