Congresswoman Kilpatrick Applauds Announcement of Federal Partnership with DDOT
Congresswoman Kilpatrick joined U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood and state and local leaders in announcing the federal government’s partnership with the Detroit Department of Transportation on the Woodward Light Rail Project. The collaboration will help move the initiative that will provide light rail from downtown Detroit to Eight Mile Road forward. Several participants, including Senator Debbie Stabenow, Governor Jennifer Granholm, and Mayor Dave Bing, thanked the Congresswoman for her leadership and determination in bringing rail transportation to the region. The Congresswoman secured more than $6 million in federal funding for the Woodward Light Rail Project.
