“As a former public school teacher, I have been a long-time advocate and supporter of K-12 financial literacy, nutrition, and physical education initiatives. I am drafting language for legislation that would provide full funding for K-12 physical education programs. Regular physical activity helps improve academic performance and combat childhood obesity. Participation in organized physical activities can also build confidence and teach children lessons about leadership and collaboration. The measure I am proposing would not reduce or eliminate funding for the World Cup.”
