Internships

Interns in Congressman Larsen’s DC, Everett, and Bellingham offices are important, contributing members of our Congressional staff. They have an opportunity to learn about day-to-day functions of the U.S. government and how constituents of the 2nd District of Washington State are helped through our office.

Interns research and write Congressional correspondence, help constituents find information, work with federal agencies, and field constituent phone calls. Legislative Duties include attending committee hearings or briefings, researching for staff, responding to legislative inquiries from constituents, and a variety of other tasks.

Interns have the opportunity to develop marketable skills and work experience that will carry over into any field.

Qualifications

Applicants may be undergraduate students who have completed at least one semester/quarter of college, graduate students or recent graduates. Applicants should be interested in the legislative process and have strong verbal, writing and research skills. Willingness to undertake a variety of projects and the ability to work independently is also important. Preference will be given to applicants from the 2nd District of Washington State, or to students who are from Washington State.

All internships are unpaid.
