Local Transit Projects Receive Support in House Bill
Funding Included in 2010 Federal Appropriations Bill Passed by the House

The House today passed a bill that includes support for transportation projects located within Michigan’s Second Congressional District.
"Transportation projects help to provide for the safe and reliable movement of people and goods," said U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Holland. "They help to attract and accommodate necessary economic development and a reliable workforce, which is needed more than ever given Michigan’s current economic condition."
The funding included in the Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development, the Judiciary, the District of Columbia, and Independent Agencies Appropriations Act for projects in West Michigan is as follows.
Preliminary design, right of way and construction for the U.S. 31 bypass (M-231): $500,000
Replacement buses for the Cadillac/Wexford Transit Authority: $300,000
Replacement buses for the Benzie Transit Authority: $200,000
