Dingell Announces FAA Grant for Detroit Metro Airport

Washington, DC - Congressman John Dingell (D-MI15) is pleased to announce that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded a grant of $932,480 to the Wayne County Airport Authority.  This grant will provide the necessary federal funding to reconstruct the eastern half of Runway 9L/27R at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.

“Detroit Metro Airport is an economic engine for Southeast Michigan, attracting new businesses to the region and providing top-notch service to its passengers,” Dingell said.  “I am always pleased to work with the Wayne County Airport Authority to ensure Detroit Metro Airport is the safest, most efficient airport we can make it.  This newest investment will go a long way towards achieving this goal, allowing Detroit Metro Airport to continue to compete with large hubs across the country for new routes and new passengers.  I want to thank the FAA for this latest round of federal investment.”
