Cummings Honored For Work In Support Of Minority Small Business

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (MD-07) will be honored Friday evening, by the Maryland Minority Contractors Association (MMCA), for “appearing to eat and sleep advocacy for minority and small business, in today’s environment of Recovery.”

The MMCA is a non-profit corporation which assists and mentors MBE/WBE members in transforming their business ideas and dreams into tomorrow’s great enterprises. They also monitor and advocate for legislation and programs that positively affect minority businesses.

“As we in Congress continue to work hard to create jobs, it is particularly rewarding to be honored by this group,” said Cummings. “Small businesses are the engines that drive our nation’s economy, and minority small businesses will be the catalyst to improve every aspect of our minority communities.   I thank the MMCA for this honor and I will work to continue to deserve it.”

The dinner is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening, at New Martins, 594 Cranbrook Road, Hunt Valley/Cockeysville.
