American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act
The "American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act" makes significant investments in American jobs and cuts taxes to help the nation continue along the path of economic recovery and job growth. The economy has added 573,000 jobs since December-this bill includes provisions to continue that growth.

Gulf Coast
The delegation of 22 members traveled to the Gulf Coast from July 19-22 to mark the third anniversary of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. On their trip, the lawmakers visited several sites in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and coastal Mississippi to determine where the region stands on the issues of health care, housing, education, infrastructure, criminal justice and insurance reform.

Haiti Earthquake
The thoughts and prayers of the entire Congress are with the people of Haiti. The United States and Members of Congress remain committed to helping the Haitian people recover from this latest disaster and rebuild their homes, communities, and lives in the days and weeks to come.

Rural Star - Rural Energy Savings Program Act
The Rural Energy Savings Program Act provides loans to American families, small businesses and farmers in rural communities to renovate their homes, farms or businesses to become more energy-efficient. These programs will offer loans of about $3,000 to $7,500 to eliminate the upfront cost of home energy upgrades, which customers will then repay over 10 years on their electric bill.
