Social Issues

I am a steadfast proponent of traditional marriage and the sanctity of life. My commitment in Congress to pro-life and pro-family policies has been recognized with the “True Blue” award from the Family Research Council and a lifetime rating of 100 percent from National Right to Life. I support bills that promote life, promote adoption, reinforce parental rights, increase awareness about the risks of abortion, protect traditional marriage, and more.

Defending Traditional Marriage

I believe that marriage is defined as the sacred union between one man and one woman. I strongly support legislation that strengthens and protects traditional marriage.

While serving in the Texas House of Representatives, I was honored as “Top Pro-Family Legislator of the Year” by the American Family Association for my consistent record of supporting pro-family legislation.

Sanctity of Life

I believe that government as an obligation to protect innocent human life, from conception to natural death, and oppose any use of taxpayer funds to pay for abortions. I have written and supported numerous pro-life bills throughout my public service.

Related bills I am cosponsoring in the 111th Congress:
