Veterans’ Day 2007

Washington D.C. — House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Ranking Member Steve Buyer (R-Ind.) today released the following statement in recognition of Veterans’ Day:

“This Veterans’ Day, let us be mindful of the extraordinary sacrifices members of the armed forces have made to preserve our liberty and way of life. This is a day of remembrance, a salute to those who dedicated themselves to serving our nation since the founding of the republic.

Even as we celebrate this memorable occasion, a new generation of Americans is defending the freedoms and values we hold dear. Let us resolve to honor these future veterans and ensure that all who have served, especially those who were injured in their country’s service, have the benefits they have so justly earned available to allow them to lead productive and fulfilling lives. I, and all the members of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, remain dedicated to this cause.   May God bless our troops, our veterans and the United States of America.”
