What is a podcast?
A podcast is a convenient way to subscribe to audio and video content on the Internet. When you subscribe to a podcast, your computer will check for new audio or video content periodically and notify you when new content is available. You can also setup your podcast subscription to automatically download new audio or video files to your computer or handheld device (such as an iPod) as they become available. That way you can then watch or listen to the files at your convenience without having to constantly check back for updated content.
What software do I need to subscribe?
To subscribe to a podcast, you will need a podcasting application. The most popular is Apple iTunes, but there are many other applications out there that work just as well. Most popular web browsers (such as Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox) can serve as a podcasting application as well.
