My office will be hosting a Federal Procurement/Contracting workshop on Thursday, October 8, 2009.  The workshop will provide information from federal agencies who purchase products as well as prime or major companies who supply the federal government on the process a business would follow if interested in serving as a supplier to their organization/agency.  As my district is home to numerous businesses with the capability to supply the federal government or manufacture parts for these prime or major suppliers to the federal government, we thought you may be interested in this opportunity.  Following is the information of the event:

 

Thursday, October 8, 2009 – Muskegon, Michigan

Location:  Grand Valley State University’s Annis Water Resource Institute Lake Michigan Center

Address: 740 W. Shoreline Drive  Muskegon, MI  49441

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; registration begins at 8:30 AM.

 

Below is the agenda for the program:

8:30 – 9:00 – Registration

9:00 – 9:10 – Welcome/Opening

9:10 –9:45 – Procurement Technical Assistance Center presentation

9:45 – 10:45 – Defense Supply Center Columbus presentation

10:45 – 11:45 – US Army TACOM presentation

11:45 – 12:15 – Lunch

12:15 – 1:30  – Small Business Liaison Officer panel: introductions, company background, commodities purchased, contract opportunities

1:30 – 3:30 – one-on-one sessions: attendees select individual presenters/companies for more in-depth discussion

In addition to the presentations by U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) and U.S. Army TACOM Warren, MI division, the following prime/major companies will be making presentations as part of the SBLO panel at the event: Alcoa Howmet Whitehall, Johnson Technology, L-3 Communications, AAR Mobility Systems, Osh Kosh Truck and BAE Systems Land & Armaments (invited).

 

The cost of the event is $15.00 per person and includes lunch and materials.  Space is limited for this district wide event to just 100 seats.  Please call 616-395-0030 to reserve your spot.  If space is available, you will need to complete the attached registration form and return it with a check made payable to: “HOEKSTRA CONFERENCE ACCOUNT” in order to secure your spot. We cannot accept cash.  Registrations will be processed on a first come/first served basis and accepted only until we reach capacity but no later than October 5.  Registrations received after that time will be put on a cancellation list.
