Fellow Hoosiers,

As a thank you to my e-newsletter readers, you're getting the first look at the schedule for my upcoming Town Hall series.  It's been a summer of controversies in Washington, and with threats of tax increases and lame duck spending sessions in the near future, I want to hear your questions and opinions, and have a conversation about the issues that matter most to you.

You'll notice that the Town Hall meetings are scheduled on or near September 11, 2010--the ninth anniversary of the tragic terrorist attacks on our country.  While most of our conversation may be centered on current policy issues, I thought we might commemorate the innocent lives lost on 9/11 as a community of patriots, gathered to discuss where our country has been since that tragic day, and how we can improve America so our kids and grandkids have a secure and prosperous future.

Please mark the dates below on your calendar.  I look forward to meeting you and hearing what's on your mind.

Late July - Congressman Burton Signs the No Climate Tax Pledge!
Rep. Burton reaffirmed his opposition to Cap and Trade, or any other National Energy Tax scheme, by signing the No Climate Tax Pledge.  Visit noclimatetax.com to learn more and view other pledge takers.

July 21 - Burton joins the Congressional Tea Party Caucus.  See his speech to Congress here, and read his op-ed here about why he joined.

August 4th - Burton goes on Fox Business Network's Bulls & Bears to talk about the latest Democrat tax hike scheme.  Click here to watch the segment.

August 10th - Burton Honored as a  'Taxpayer Hero' by the Citizens Against Government Waste
The premier grassroots organization for fighting massive Washington spending bills and ferreting out waste, fraud, and abusue of taxpayer dollors has once again honored Rep. Burton as a 'Taxpayer Hero.'

August 11th - A new company has made Indiana's 5th Congressional District its home!
