| As a senior member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, Rep. Markey plays a key oversight role over commerce issues. Rep. Markey initiated an investigation into conflicts of interest in the pension consulting industry, which has shined a spotlight on practices that could reduce the value of workers’ hard-earned benefits.
