Upcoming Events in the 6th Congressional District

Library of Congress "Gateway to Knowledge" Traveling Exhibit

The exhibit will be in Fond du Lac on Tuesday, Nov. 30 and Wednesday, Dec. 1 at the Oakwood Mall

A special Library of Congress traveling exhibition- mounted in a customized 18-wheel truck- will visit three towns in Wisconsin during the next three weeks: Eau Claire, Fond du Lac and Janesville.

The "Gateway to Knowledge" exhibition will bring high-quality facsimiles of many of the Library's top treasures and information about the millions of resources in the Library's unparalleled collections to small towns and rural communities across America-areas that may not be aware of their access to the wealth of information in this publicly funded institution.

Medicare Part D Open Season Information Forums

Meetings will be held December 9th and 10th

The meetings will feature a presentation followed by a question and answer session with representatives from the Wisconsin Board on Aging and Long Term Care and a County Elderly Benefits Specialist.

Meetings like this provide an excellent opportunity for Medicare beneficiaries with questions or concerns about the program to talk with those who work directly with Medicare and are knowledgeable about the options. This is an important time to learn more about Medicare Part D, as the open season to change coverage is underway and ends on December 31st of this year.

As you may know, the Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Program is voluntary and offers participants a variety of options to help meet their prescription drug needs. To make the best choices, however, it is important to carefully evaluate and understand those options. These sessions are intended to help provide everyone who attends with some of the important information they need.
