FOR THE LOVE OF THE LAKE

How Can I Help?

There are several ways you can help White Rock Lake and make the surrounding park a cleaner and more pleasant environment. You, your business, or organization can volunteer for the the Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce-Up and/or to help with the many facets of administering and promoting "For the Love of The Lake". You may also contribute towards much needed improvements through a tax-deductible donation, by buying groceries with your Reward Card at Tom Thumb and even by sponsoring a trash can.

If you are interested, please meet Congressman Sessions at For the Love of the Lake office between 8:00 am and 8:30 am on the second Saturday of the month.  Pete's group meets at the 3rd parking area and his section of the lake is located at Jackson Point. To get there, take the Lawther Road exit off of Mockingbird Lane. The site is approximately 1 to 1.5 miles after turning off of Mockingbird Lane.

What Is The Incentive?

Besides the great feeling that you get knowing that you are making your community more beautiful, you can also get credit for the time you volunteer at White Rock Lake. Congressman Sessions, in conjunction with "For the Love of the Lake," will be keeping track of service hours for those who wish to receive a Certificate of Congressional Recognition acknowledging their contribution. This makes the lake project a perfect opportunity for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, or any other group that logs community service hours. However, you don't have to be a part of an organization to receive recognition. Anyone who would like to receive an award signed by Congressman Sessions recognizing their contribution may do so. Please contact Flo Helton at 972.392.0505 or by e-mail at Flo.Helton@mail.house.gov to request your certificate. Participation will be verified by "For the Love of the Lake" facilitators.
