WASHINGTON, DC– Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt, Chairman of the GOP Health Care Solutions Group, has sponsored HR 3887 to allow young workers to stay on their families’ health care plans up to age 25.
Blunt is highlighting a health care bill he supports each day for two weeks. Blunt’s Health Care Solutions are designed to improve what is working and fix what is broken in Americans’ health care.
“There are about 7.3 million young workers age 19-24 who do not have health insurance. My plan would allow them to stay on their families’ plans for their coverage,” Blunt said. “Rather than fining and penalizing young workers without health coverage, this bill will help cover many of them while they get their feet under themselves professionally.”
Blunt continued: “Over the weekend, House Democrats passed their 2,000-plus-page government-takeover of health care. Nothing I’m proposing is hidden in a 14-inch-thick bill, so let’s have an honest conversation about how to make health care more affordable and accessible for everyone, regardless of pre-existing condition. Access to affordable care is an important part of that equation.”
Yesterday, Blunt highlighted HR 3822, which will allow employers who don’t offer health insurance to assist their employees in purchasing insurance on the individual market. For more details on all of Blunt’s solutions, click here.
