Sen. Klobuchar, Rep. Peterson and North Dakota Delegation Meet with President Obama to Press for Help for Residents Threatened by Flood Waters

March 25, 2009

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, Congressman Collin Peterson and members of the North Dakota congressional delegation met with President Obama today to press for help for North Dakota and Minnesota residents in areas threatened by flood waters.  The Senators and Congressmen thanked the President for his willingness to already make FEMA resources available.

"We were able to give the President a full accounting of the threat facing residents of North Dakota and Minnesota.  He was very clear about providing the help we need," said Klobuchar.

While acknowledging the grave threat facing Bismarck and Fargo, Klobuchar noted that the Fargo-Moorhead is one area, with people working and living in both states.  "The President understood that while the danger faced by North Dakota appears to be much more grave, Minnesota will also get the help it needs," said Klobuchar.
