Klobuchar Joins UMD Women's Hockey Team at White House Ceremony
NCAA champion Bulldogs honored at event

Washington, D.C. – At a White House ceremony today, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar joined members of the University of Minnesota-Duluth Women’s Bulldog Hockey Team and congratulated them for winning the 2007-2008 NCAA championship.
“The Bulldogs didn’t just bring home a national championship – they have brought Minnesota an incredible amount of energy and pride,’’ Klobuchar said. “Their record – four national championships in eight years – speaks for itself and I’m proud to represent such a remarkable group of young women.’’
The defending national champion UMD Bulldogs were making their fourth White House trip in the past decade. From 2001-2003 they racked up three national titles. Led by coach Shannon Miller, the Bulldogs posted a record of 43-4-1 and beat the University of Wisconsin 4-0 for the 2007-2008 Division 1 National Championship.
