Washington, D.C., with its monuments, museums, and other historical attractions, is without a doubt one of the nation's most beautiful and intriguing cities. I hope that the information provided through the links below will acquaint you with the various sights and allow you to plan a vacation filled with activity.  If you have any additional questions please contact Amanda Gill in my Washington office at (202) 225-4401.

Bureau of Engraving & Printing

Here you will see how currency and stamps are made. The Bureau is located at 14th and C Streets SW. Public tours are available Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., leaving every 20 minutes. The building is closed for tours on weekends and holidays. You may contact the Bureau at (202) 874-3019 for further information on public tours.

There are also limited Congressional tours, which can be scheduled through my Washington office. A six week advance notice is requested.


Kennedy Center

Free tours of the Kennedy Center are available Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. Free performances are also available at 6 p.m. daily on the millennium stage.

Library of Congress

Public tours are available Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Tours are free and reservations are not required.

Congressional tours can be scheduled through my office and are available Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.


U.S. Capitol

The Capitol is open to the public for guided tours only. Individuals or groups interested in participating in a guided tour of the Capitol can book tours in advance online at www.visitthecapitol.gov, contacting my office at (202) 225-4401, or through the Office of Visitor Services by calling (202) 226-8000.  A limited number of same-day passes are available each day at the tour kiosks on the East and West Fronts of the Capitol or at the Information Desks in Emancipation Hall on the lower level of the Visitor Center.

If you are interested in visiting the House gallery, please stop by my office to obtain passes.



U.S. Supreme Court

Lectures in the Courtroom are typically given every hour on the half-hour, on days that the Court is not sitting, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding at 3:30 p.m. The building is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays.

Congressional tours of the Supreme Court may also be available. These tours are limited to no more than 4 people.


White House

The White House is open for tours on a limited basis. Tour requests should be submitted through my Washington office at least four to six months in advance. Tours are scheduled on a first come first served basis. These self-guided tours are available Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
