Senior citizens are increasingly healthier, living longer and engaged in their communities. They bring wisdom, knowledge and experience to the public discourse. A range of federal issues, from Social Security and Medicare to housing to technology and privacy affect the quality of their lives and the lives of those who love and care for them. In 2003, Matheson supported bipartisan passage of a Medicare prescription drug bill – the most significant change to Medicare in the program’s 38-year history.
