Constitutional Issues

Our system of government and the rights afforded every American are enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Members of Congress take a solemn oath to support the Constitution of the United States. From our system of checks and balances to the right to a speedy trial, to the process for amending the Constitution, that document was intended by the Founding Fathers to “endure for ages to come and consequently to be adapted to the various crises of human affairs.”
