AMENDMENT PROCESS FOR H.R. 2871, EXPORT-IMPORT BANK REAUTHORIZATION ACT OF 2001

The Rules Committee is planning to meet next week to grant a rule which may limit the amendment process on H.R. 2871, the Export-Import Bank Reauthorization Act of 2001. The bill was ordered reported by the Committee on Financial Services on October 31, 2001.

Any Member wishing to offer an amendment should submit 55 copies of the amendment and one copy of a very brief explanation of the amendment to the Rules Committee in room H-312 of the Capitol no later than 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 30th. A link to the form used to submit an amendment to the Rules Committee is provided at the bottom of this page. Amendments should be drafted to the text of the bill as reported from the Committee on Financial Services.

Members should use the Office of Legislative Counsel to ensure that their amendments are properly drafted and should check with the Office of the Parliamentarian to be certain their amendments comply with the rules of the House.
